Then came the years that changed everything.
Nine lives. Nine losses.
Nine reminders of how
fragile life can be.
Between 2007 and 2009, cancer took nine members of Robin's family.
For many people, grief becomes an ending. For Robin, grief became a catalyst.
Why were so many people suffering?
Why were so many families left without options?
Why did relief seem inaccessible to those who needed it most?
Robin immersed herself in the science of cannabinoids, traditional herbal medicine, ancient extraction techniques, and emerging research surrounding the endocannabinoid system. She studied both old wisdom and new science. She listened to patients. She listened to physicians. She listened to families.
What emerged from those years would become the foundation of everything that followed. Compassion became chemistry. And chemistry became medicine.
Yet the roots of this work reached back even further. In 1996, immediately following California's Compassionate Use Act, Robin received authorization allowing her to legally create cannabis-based products for others. At a time when few understood the therapeutic potential of cannabinoids, she began exploring the plant's possibilities.
The losses of 2007 to 2009 transformed exploration into purpose. What had once been curiosity became mission.
Before cannabis became an industry, Robin was studying the relationship between suffering and relief.
